Store Manager Designate - Warwickshire

Summary: If you've ever been into one of our stores, you'll know how much fun there is to be had. Bright, colourful and alive with the squeaking of small animals and splashing of fish, our stores are full of theatre.

As a STORE MANAGER DESIGNATE, you will cover a geographical area. Supporting a variety of stores making sure our customers are at the front of your team's minds, the retail presentation of your store is exemplary, your team are trained in order to fill their full potential, our pets are maintained to the highest possible standard and you maximise every sales opportunity.

As Store Manager Designate you will report to the Retail Development Manager (Area Manager). We are somewhat different to other retailers because we sell pets but the general experience you have gained in other quality retailers will still apply and help you make a smooth transition. As Store Manager Designate you will work across the Region covering a variety of stores supporting the store management teams, covering absences, addressing particular challenges and working with new store openings. You will need to be flexible and able to make a quick impact. The aim will be to move you into a suitable store on a permanent basis when the opportunity arrives by which time you will have gained a wealth of experience. The aim in each store is to achieve the following:

It is essential that you have previous management experience, ideally within a retail environment. You'll be responsible for ensuring the store exceeds its sales targets and overseeing matters of security and cash and banking so that we can protect the profits. You'll already know about customer service but you will be expected to make sure that it's the first thing on your team's mind. Of course the care of pets is what we are all about and the fish and small animals need as much care and attention as our customers and staff!

On a regional level you could be a mentor to one of the management trainees or manage a Centre of Excellence. At Pets at Home the opportunities are always there and with plans to double in size over the next 5 years the sky's the limit!
